POWERUP 2025
Hosted at Trans-Pecos (9-15 Wyckoff Ave, Queens, NY, 11385)
September 5th and 7th
POWRUP is an annual microfest hosted by POWRPLNT, designed to empower creatives to critically engage with technology and use it as a tool for self-expression, creativity, and collective action. In a time when digital literacy is a form of power, we believe it’s essential for individuals—to understand, shape, and challenge the technologies that structure their lives.
Originally envisioned as a 5-day program, POWRUP 2025 will be condensed into a dynamic 2-day workshop series. Despite financial and temporal constraints, our commitment remains unwavering: to provide access to tools, education, and community support that fosters creative and technological agency.
The theme of this year’s 6th annual POWRUP is The Nature Of Technology — Reimagining Reality and World Building Through Creative Technological Practices. We’ll be focusing on the topics of coding, digital identity, and sonic expression, to explore the worlds we’re building both online and offline. Participants will learn programs like p5.sj with Daniel Schiffman, best practices for digital privacy with Ana Roman, and the introduction of djing and using cdjs with Dj O-Well and DJ Yanka. From irl roots to digital futures, POWRUP 2025 invites participants to reimagine tech as a way of sustaining more connected, expressive, and resilient communities.
