MAAFUSS x POWRPLNT 2021

We are thrilled to welcome IMAAFUSS for a residency at POWRPLNT! IMAAFUSS is a community think tank and a research lab that challenges expiring and expired notions of what a museum is and does for a society. Their current zine open call seeks submissions that reimagine museum spaces. From April through September 2021, they will organize public programs and workshops that open up discussions on how to manifest our dream museums.

Their guiding principles are focused on openness and community to help us shape meaningful new initiatives, ongoing projects, and collaborations. These principles are dynamic and may evolve, and should evolve, not from the turbulence of the political climate, but alongside the improving strategies and endeavors to conceptually and physically build projects that actively benefit folx and communities who are marginalized and abused in traditional museum spaces. This same demographic of people are most gravely harmed by countless fucked up social systems, and we have a responsibility to counter these systems.
