ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Whether you're a newer DJ or a seasoned pro, if you're DJing digitally, you'll probably eventually need to use Rekordbox. This workshop walks through some ways to think about music organization, how to make sure your files will play on different CDJs, alternatives to iTunes/Music, and some ways to use tags, playlists, cue points, and other features to set yourself up for creativity and improvisation at the gig.

☆ No strict pre-requisites ☆ - though this will not cover the most basic aspects of getting Rekordbox set up, we will focus on important concepts such as tagging, playlists, and more.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST:
Lychee is a Brooklyn-based DJ and writer formerly of Boston, whose dance music culture zine Spontaneous Affinity has explored topics ranging from the labor behind the scenes of your favorite party to critical examinations of gender, race, and sexuality in the culture (as well as hosting some of our favorite mixes of recent years). IIn addition to holding down regular appearances at Basement, Nowadays, and Bossa Nova Civic Club, Lychee is part of the Antidote and Meridian event collectives, co-runs the label Unimatrix Zero, and is on the board for the Aslice Foundation.
