For young artists 13-19 years of age we offer FREE courses in professional digital art software taught by established teaching artists.
Sessions are 1.5 hours and meet once a week
Each 6 week session ends in a group exhibit of student work at
Powrplnt HQ 562 Evergreen Ave.
Taught by a rotating crew of photographers, learn how to use DSLR cameras, lighting techniques, and basic photoshop to get started as a professional photographer.
Learn the art of DIY Book publishing or ZINES. Get your ideas and work out utilizing lay out, scanning, photography, collaging and more.
Digital Music Making
Presented by Sonic Arts For All! Learn how to use synthesizers, iPads and other electronic instruments to make beats, soundscapes and songs. Upload your music right to soundcloud and share with the world.

Using Ableton Live, Premiere and the infinite internet you will write, record, mix, master, and release a single with its own music video and album cover. A four week crash course in how to have complete control of your own musical identity.

In teams, you will write and shoot a short video and learn how to publish effectively online.
3D DIGITAL SCULPTURE
Instructed by Rodan Tekle
Learn Z-Brush, a software extensively used in the film and gaming industry but can also be a fun art tool. Learn how to sculpt 3D characters using brushes. We will focus on character and creature models and attempt animation.
TFW Bae Clicks: Coding Interactivity
Instructed by Martha Hipley
In this class, students will learn a code-bades approach to creating animations and interactions for the web. You will also learn basic programming skills that can be applied to any program language.
ZINE DREAM MACHINE
Instructed by Lexi Brown
Zines are self-produced magazines. Using photography and found images, you will create a zine on a theme of your interest, ending in a final print of your images and ideas.

Learn the basics of Ableton, Adobe Audition, and Audacity. Make your very own audio cables and build electronic installations using Arduino to create a Sonic Environment for your audio productions and sound designs.
